Puja Path is for My Mother — Or Is It?

There’s a common belief in the youth of today that puja, or worship, is only for our mothers or the older generation. But nothing could be further from the truth! In reality, puja (worship) is a powerful spiritual practice that benefits people of all ages, offering peace that go far beyond mere tradition.
1. Puja – A Practice for All Ages
Contrary to the stereotype, puja isn’t just for our mothers or the elderly. It’s a dynamic practice that can enrich anyone’s life, regardless of age. For young people, engaging in puja provides purpose and clarity. It helps them reconnect with their roots, find calm amidst a fast-paced world, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the universe.
2. Finding Focus and Peace Amidst Chaos
In a world overflowing with distractions—endless notifications, social media, and constant demands—puja offers a much-needed pause. It creates a sacred space to breathe, reflect, and connect with the deeper aspects of life. Even a few moments of this practice each day can significantly enhance focus, reduce stress, and cultivate inner peace—an invaluable gift, especially for today’s youth. As sages have often said, when the heart connects with the divine, even the toughest circumstances become more manageable.
3. Unlocking the Power of Intention
Puja isn’t just about rituals; it’s about setting intentions and being mindful. Through puja, we consciously align our thoughts, words, and actions with our higher goals. This practice transforms our daily routine into a purposeful journey, teaching gratitude, humility, and respect—qualities that are timeless and valuable at every age.
5. Puja as a Modern Practice
Puja doesn’t need to be a lengthy, elaborate ceremony. It can be as simple as lighting a lamp, offering a flower, or chanting a mantra with sincerity. On the Sadhana App, Nitya Puja can be done even if you have 5 minutes to spare for your peace everyday! Practice manasic puja—mental worship making it accessible and meaningful, no matter the schedule.
Rather than seeing puja as an obligation or something only for our mothers, we can embrace it as a lifelong companion.
See puja as a sacred tool that grows with you, deepening your connection to the Divine and aligning you with your highest self at every step.
